The Association for Project Management Accreditation (APMP) is a self-paced eLearning course delivered over the Internet to individual or corporate clients. The course price includes an examination fee.
The course covers a range of topics which I organised into nine modules:
- Project Structure and Governance
- Communication and Team Leadership
- Resource Management
- Procurement and Risk Management
- Project Quality Management
- Preparing for the Examination
As the lead ID on this project I was responsible for the design direction, overall structure and course functionality. Within the course I included interactive essay questions at the end of each module: learners could attempt a timed examination question and compare their answer with ‘model’ answers. The Preparing for the Examination module also contained tips on exam technique and the chance to download a practice paper. In addition to this there were spot quiz-style questions throughout the course to test users’ knowledge.
I designed the course to be modular, so that it could be easily taken apart and individual modules (or even topics) could be combined with classroom sessions, or the client could rearrange the topics according to their training requirements.
The course went live in December 2014 and is currently available on the QA website. A demo (the introduction module) is available.
